About Us

The Tennessee Technology Center at Hartsville was created by the Department of Education. Classes began in June 1965, and have been operating continuously. The Center is now governed by the Tennessee Board of Regents.

The Center is located one mile east of Hartsville on Highway 25. Its setting is a beautiful 20-acre valley near the historic Cumberland River and Old Hickory Lake on Historic Avery Trace.

Tennessee Technology Centers have been provided in all sections of the state of Tennessee.  Their purpose is to meet the needs of residents of the State for occupational and technical training preparatory for entry into business and industry

TTC Mission

The Tennessee Technology Centers continue to serve as the premier providers for workforce development throughout the State of Tennessee.  The centers fulfill the mission by:

  • Providing competency-based training through traditional and distance learning instructional delivery systems of the highest quality that will qualify individuals for employment and/or advancement in jobs.
  • Providing high quality training and re-training of employed workers.
  • Providing high quality training that is economical and accessible to all residents of Tennessee, thereby contributing to the economic and community development of the communities we serve.
