Patient Care Technician
Certificate levels of completion are exit points of less than full competency and are awarded at the discretion of the instructor. The mission of the Patient Care Technician program is to provide a quality education within a positive learning environment to prepare competent women and men to assist nurses in providing quality care to patients meeting a growing healthcare demand. This program is designed to provide a complimentary blend of theory and practical application to ensure that the student will be able to give nursing care to clients in situations relatively free of scientific complexity under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. The student will meet certification requirements for a Certified Nurse Technician in the State of Tennessee, and a nationally recognized certification as a Patient Care Technician.
